Situated on 35 woodland acres in Andover, Massachusetts, The Pike School is an independent day school for Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 9 that has been molding young minds since 1926.

Lower School

(Pre-K - Grade 4)

At Pike, our youngest learners begin their journey in an environment where curiosity and connection flourish. The Elementary School experience centers around hands-on, interactive, and exploratory experiences that spark a love of learning and a strong sense of belonging. Students explore, collaborate, and build meaningful relationships while developing essential social-emotional skills through play and discovery. From their very first days, your child will be supported in a nurturing setting designed to foster confidence, connection, and well-rounded growth in and out of the classroom.

Upper School

(Grades 5 - 9)

What may be referred to as Middle School in public institutions, we call Upper School at Pike.

At Pike, Upper School is a time when students deepen their understanding of the world and their place in it. In classrooms rooted in inquiry, collaboration, and academic rigor, students are encouraged to take intellectual risks, explore big ideas, and engage meaningfully with complex questions. The Upper School experience is designed to empower and challenge your child, preparing them to become thoughtful leaders and compassionate changemakers.

Student Life

Pike students are happy, healthy, and engaged in their community. Working diligently in and out of the classroom, they learn the academic and interpersonal skills that help them succeed in secondary schools and beyond.

One of the newest additions to Pike is our makerspace. Makerspaces promote the joy of learning through creative experimentation with a wide variety of “low-tech” and “high-tech” tools and materials.

We also offer a year-round athletics programming, a robust arts department, and a variety of student clubs to explore topics ranging from math and robotics to cartooning and baking. 

Student Support

Pike’s Student Support Team (SST) exists to empower students of a variety of learning profiles to grow into more independent, self-actualized, and socially healthy learners. This is achieved through both consultation with other professionals and direct work with students across various tiers of support.

Our Coordinators and Counselors work with Division Heads, faculty, staff, and parents/guardians to provide consultation regarding students’ academic, social, and emotional needs. SST faculty also teach reading groups in the Lower School and Study Skills in the Upper School.
